Restoration

This is the restoration of Cheetah No.29 expertly done by Marv and Clare. Although the Cheetah had been repaired in the past, these repairs did not last and a full restoration was required. The restoration started on the 8th December 2013.

 

 




 

   

     

49. This wall is now complete.

50. Start of the framing for the nearside

51. Kitchen wall under construction.

53. As with all restorations, Clare

and Marv copy the original framing.

54. With some exceptions such as the extra bracing in the lounge wall.

     

     

55. Lockers, door frame etc offered up to get the framing dead right.

58. As with the nearside the new framing

is laid out on tressles and the ali

panels laid on top.

59. Any small adjustments are then made.

60. Offside overhead cab.

 

   

     

61. Every edge and opening is examined.

62. The completed wall framing.

63. Door offered up.

     

     

64. Both walls are given several coats

of a wood preservative.

65. Next job is to tackle the roof. This job starts by removing the backbumper.

66. Then the bumper rail is removed.

     

     

67. Not looking pretty but it looks original.

68. Upper bike rack/ladder rail being removed.

69. Rear badge and back window are taken out.

     

     

70. Roof Skylights are vents are removed.

71. The ali roof is rolled up and over the Cheetah.
